Offering grades Kindergarten through Eighth grades, classes are still small enough to maximize “teacher-student interaction.” Such individualized attention, coupled with enhanced academics and discipline create the optimal learning environment.
Our teachers – in partnership with the parents – play a significant role in Our Lady of Fatima’s educational ministry. Our teachers all hold teaching degrees and are totally dedicated to the child’s academic and spiritual development.
Like any other school, Our Lady of Fatima uses standard, state-adopted textbooks and nationally-normed achievement tests. Educational opportunities are enhanced by field trips, special assemblies with guest speakers, educational television, computer technology, videos, and other hands-on materials and manipulatives.
All grades are instructed in the basis of reading, language arts, and math, as well
as social studies, science, and religion.
Special projects for the students of Our Lady of Fatima include an annual drama project which culminates with a Dinner Theater. Students also participate in annual “fairs” which show-case the students’ classroom studies, such as a Science Fair, History Fair, or Literacy Fairs. In addition, our 7th and 8th grade students attend the AstroTrek Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama in the spring.
Enrichment programs in art, music, Spanish, and computer lab, as well as a
structured physical education program are available for all students.
Parochial League Basketball and Football programs are available for middle school students. The school participates in Reward Sports Soccer.
The school is open at 7:30 AM each morning. Classes begin at 8:00 AM, and the school dismisses at 3:00 PM.
